ecoAfrica
Travel is the inbound eco tour operator behind www.ecoafrica.com, which
pioneered online promotion of ecotourism to Africa back in 1995. Since then we
have arranged over 9,000 tours to the African bush for over 20,000 delighted
travellers, primarily from the US and major European countries.
We arrange your flights,
accommodation, safari and transfers. Our travel consultants provide an efficient
service, and are online weekdays from 7am to 4pm African time, for live travel
advice. We add value to the
selection process by giving visitors the opportunity to make an informed
decision between different products from select operators and
we quote you the same price as
our operators themselves would, and receive a referral commission on bookings
from the operator in question. Our clientele hails predominantly from the US and
Europe.
We focus on true ecotourism,
defined by the International Ecotourism Society as:
“Responsible travel to natural areas that conserves the environment and sustains
the well-being of local people”
We screen our products and give
recognition to products on the following criteria:
-
Nature - Experience the authentic Africa, its wildlife
and wilderness.
-
Ethics - Not be promoting the luring, taming or
killing of wildlife for entertainment.
-
Education - Come away with a deeper understanding and
appreciation of the continent’s unique natural and cultural environment.
-
Footprint - Support low impact, ecologically sensitive
facilities and services.
-
Community - Contribute to sustainable economic and
community development.
-
Conservation - Contribute to meaningful environmental
research or nature conservation.
-
Empowerment - Hosts who practice local citizen
empowerment.

ecoAfrica
Travel offers trips to South Africa, Angola, Namibia, Zambia, Zimbabwe, Uganda,
Botswana, Malawi, Mozambique, Namibia, Kenya, Tanzania and Gabon. We are
presently expanding our destinations to include the Seychelles, Mozambique and
Madagascar.
At ecoAfrica
Travel, you can select your type of safari - you may wish to interact with local
communities, researchers, expert guides, scientists or veterinarians on a
special interest safari or prefer to stay at your chosen lodge while exploring
your surroundings daily. Accommodation includes safari tents (some rustic,
others with en suite bathroom and private viewing decks), thatched
cottages and bungalows and elegant African lodges.
A wide range of
safari activities are on offer at ecoAfrica Travel. Overland camping trips,
luxury safaris and adventure journeys can be further enhanced by the way an
ecosystem is explored - on horseback, in a traditional mokoro (dugout canoe), by
boat, hot-air balloon or Cessna plane, in an overland vehicle, microbus or 4x4.
At ecoAfrica Travel, we respect
the fact that selecting a safari in Africa can be a rather daunting task, and we
offer our services, backed by local knowledge and years of experience, in
facilitating the selection of a safari that will exceed your expectations.
