Welcome to the snowy winter world of Tiffindell Ski Resort, situated in the Southern Drakensberg in the shadow of Ben McDhui, the highest mountain peak in the Cape (3001m).
The resort was started in 1994 with basic small accommodation, a rough road and few facilities, offering exciting snow fun in SA.
Today the resort has grown and improved enormously to comfortably accommodate 170 guests in chalets, lodge rooms and the McDhui Lodge, as well as catering for a further 200 day visitors.
Enjoy all the thrills of skiing right here in the heart of South Africa. Ideal for beginners and experts, we have everything you need.
The resort has the first button lift in Southern Africa, and 2 snow grooming machines service the 1,5 hectare ski area, comprising two adjacent slopes of approximately 450m and 600m respectively. Snow making guarantees snow for over 100 days from May to September. This amount of snow would fall naturally once in 15 years.
So there is almost always the opportunity to enjoy your daily adrenaline rush. The slopes cater for about 370 skiers per day and after good snowfalls, guests can also ski off-piste for up to 1.5Km.
